Great to see Dick Zimmerman. Some of this routine was published in Genii (vol 25, p. 336 or so).

At 6:19 we see a 'Chris Angel' style cut... On the old TV's we'd never have seen that.

Jay Ose made three appearances on my ole fav "Mr Ed".

...and of course, writer Lou Derman was a longtime Castle regular (and also a writer for "All In The Family"). Lou also appears on that same "Magic theme" episode...doing Cups & Balls, if I recall.

That was very sad (the cut at 6:19).

I remember an episode of a British SF show called "Blakes 7" (Yes, the apostrophe IS supposed to be missing) In one episode, the characters are seen as phantoms performing to entertain a queen. Vila does a Phantom Tube effect (hinged Phantom Tube at that) after showing the tube empty and closing it up again, the editor cuts to a shot of the queen reacting THEN back to Vila as he produces something from the tube! The actor was livid as he'd actually worked very hard to master that prop and the cut ruined the appearance of the effect!
