I'd like to know what the voice over is saying. Cyril is doing amazing stuff, I'm surprised no one in the US has him doing a show.

Its quite good but not really practical for a working pro like me.

Not for walk a round, but if you had a shot at a TV show things like this are just what you want.

It's tough having to carry around your own 300-gallon aquarium just for a card trick...

There are a ton of great clips of Cyril (including one of him performing Dean Dills explosion). This guy is very cool!

You're not going to tell me that anyone is fooled by that?

EVERY LAYMAN was fooled, especially those that HIRE HIM... I think it is the best premise/routine yet with the card thru glass.

The fish seemed impressed.
Seriously, Cyril is a mutant. He does stuff that makes my eyes water. I only hope the stuff I do for my audiences makes them feel the same way I do when I see him. wow.

Ok, now you see how magic CAN BE DONE... it is now up to you/me/us... to start to think more, to study more, to want more.
To be better in every way. Be relevant, be good, be the best you can be. :genii:
Don't be satisfied with what you have done before...

Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
Well, those half dozen laymen were impressed, but they're the only half dozen that ever will be aside from those watching on TV. I suppose that's the point: it's a TV trick.

Like pulling your mother out of a suitcase in a hotel room? :)
Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
Well.
to me it seems a very impressive magical effect!
And i don't think any CGI was used.
But i'm not sure.

And of that half dozen, I didn't see them put the signed card in, so between the stagehands and the cameramen adn the "audience members" the job got done nicely. Kudos to the prop builders too.Originally posted by Richard Kaufman:

I felt the performance was magical, and perhaps more so than the similar effect staged on the submarine. So in this case IMHO the methods used were justified by the effect produced. It looked good to the point where I just enjoyed the thing instead of trying to analyze or backtrack.

Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
Great trick! He seperates the men from the boys by taking a known concept and using in a different and unique way. That's what good magic is all about.

An interesting comment from a friend of mine, who happens to be the guy that EDITS Criss Angel's shows. He says, "How come Cyril's edits don't get hammered by the folks on various discussion boards, like Criss'??

If it's like everything else on YouTube, there is more to this video somewhere that might show the spec putting the card into the deck.

My feeling is that Cyril appears to be making no pretense at anything other than magic staged as vignettes as opposed to claims of "real world" or "in the streets for real people.
Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
Cyril recently did the same effect through a Submarines window while submerged underwater. The video should be somewhere floating around the web.

Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
Great advice I try to live by with my stuff......but, & it's a big chubby but: I would be interested to see what these TV magis can do on the spot in real life, with any spectator without a crew working with them. Many, in fact most of what I have seen cannot be done other than in these TV situations. Just an observation.."Ok, now you see how magic CAN BE DONE... it is now up to you/me/us... to start to think more, to study more, to want more.

Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
I do find it funny that Richard would openly scoff at Cyril while acting as a spokesperson on behalf of Criss Angel on his program which is equally, if not more, reliant upon editing and such. "Only", as he pointed out about Cyril, "those half dozen watching would be fooled, and those watching on tv".
So, why lend one support and bash the other?
Money talks, I suppose.

I did not find RK lauding Criss so much as reminding us that the rising tide of interest in magic would benefit us.Originally posted by Travis Winkler:

Nor did I feel he was scoffing at Cyril so much as acknowledging that the tricks are staged for his TV show.
Any feelings on how Cyril would go over here?

Re: Possibly greatest trick of all time
I'm not paid by Criss, so I'm not a spokesperson.
I think Criss is a great magician, and anything he does on TV he can replicate in a live show--that's quoted from the second interview I did with him in Genii. And he COULD pull his mom from a suitcase live on stage since there was no CGI or editing involved in that trick--it's classic stage illusion technique. Lance Burton has been pulling his "girls" out of a suitcase on stage every night for years, so your point on that one is moot.
I don't think Cyril is in Criss's league--he has neither the personality nor charisma.

I think being dismissive of someone's personality when you are fron a different culture and country is hard.Originally posted by Richard Kaufman:

For example, many English comedians fail dreadfuly in the States.
Maybe the same could be said about Cyril's personality.
You say - interestingly - that anything he does on TV could be reproduced live.
Won't the use of the same stooges be a tell night after night?
;)
