Any idea where these little peanuts can be found?

Go to the supermarket and buy some peanuts still in the shell. They should be plain and non salted. Gently open the shell, remove the nuts, and replace with a magnet glued in place. Now glue the peanut shell closed.
Done.

Tony;
There is another option on the peanut if you want/require silence. I supplied a set of rubber chop cup peanuts for a client last year. He was doing some type of show for peanut growers. The only problem is getting the attraction correct. We set his up to attract only one end of the peanut.

Richard, in the past, I've not been much of a "crafty" DIY
person.
So, making a magnetic peanut creates some questions, the biggest
one: what kind of magnet? How strong? Does it have to be oriented properly to connect to the cup?
This was my reason for asking if one was in production. Because
I can see the potential for someone to exert tons of time, energy,
peanuts and magnets to figure it out.
Suggestions?

I would suggest taking your Chop Cup and some empty peanuts to a store that sells magnets and just test it out before you buy. Obviously the magnet can't be too strong, you won't be able to dislodge the peanut when you set the cup down.

Richard, thanks. It sounds like it would be easier to just
track down someone who makes peanuts for a chop cup. :)

as usual - just the right props for the trick from a master craftsman.
Any chance you've got a lightning pull available too?

Re: Peanuts for chop-cup routine?
Using peanuts with a full sized chop cup is a little iffy unless both ends are gaffed. The peanut does not always find the "mark". I decided upon a small narrow cup which allowed the gimmicked rubber peanut to go into the cup only in the direction desired. This allowed for attraction or none as required by the close up routine.
Lightning pulls are a custom item with varying types of end clips.
