Warehouse 13

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Warehouse 13

Postby mai-ling » April 7th, 2011, 3:10 pm

I started to watch the SyFy series Warehouse 13
earlier this week. I have seen a couple of
episodes when it was on but not from the very
beginning. And I've been wanting too.

There have been two instances of two magicians being
used in the context of the show.

In episode 1 (the pilot) Houdini Wallet was one
of the artifacts in the Warehouse.
It connects with someone who has lost someone that
can transfers their presence.

Yes like a seance.

In episode 3, Dunninger was mentioned when a hypno therapist
was able to acquire the grandfather pocket watch that
was owned by Dunninger.

I thought the Dunninger angle was interesting because,
well, it's not something a tv show would use.

So I am curious how much more magic related story
ephemera is in the Warehouse 13 now!

I have the rest of S01 and all of S02 to watch.
Plus I believe S03 is slated for the summer.

Yes, also something called Bar Karma on TV somewhere and ... another season on Dr Who starting soon.

Magic is a fine theatrical device. The tough part is getting some engaging characters and stories set to use it.

Torchwood starts July 8 during the break between the halves of the upcoming series of Dr Who. Expect a huge cliffhanger and then a break till the fall when the second half of the Dr Who episodes will be aired.

What do you think of the cards in Bar Karma?
