The Great Magic Show was my childhood magic set. I received mine in Dec 1975.

These pics are from eBay so they may vanish at any time...

George Schindler was the consultant to Reiss Games for these.

Dorian, don't know what your exact needs are, but if the pics posted above don't work, a Google search may get you the pics you need. Failing that, you might seek out a local magic set collector or see if you can get access to files of Phil Temple's "Magic Set Collector's Newsletter" or Hans Witt's "ABC of Magic Sets," both of which are richly illustrated, if memory serves. My files of these magazines are in storage, so alas I can't be of much help there. Or maybe you can contact Phil or Hans and ask for photos, but I won't be able to help you there either - I lost all my contact info after a computer crash last year.

If you could be more specific, I may be able to help you.Did you want to purchase a set or just a picture? Cannot understand why you would just want a picture, but let us know.

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve is not !!

Sorry to be so vague guys.....

I do want to purchase a set but was unsure if I would be able to because I really had no idea how much or how collectible they would be. I am using it for a prop. I am not a collector. My problem was I will be using this infront on a room full of magicians and collectors. While I can not remember what the name of or even what the kit I got for Christmas when I was a child looked like, these magician may. So I just wanted to be as close as possible. And if I could actually get a kit I would simply get a box and paste a picture on it. :)

That being said.....I think I have one from ebay thank to the first link....

All the best everyone,
Dorian

I would also love to have a nice example of this set.

Also, anyone ever get the "oriental magic" magic kit adam's sold through either jc penny or sears circa 1980? Would love to get that one too.

Anyone else remember this one:

I think pieces of it are still hidden in my parent's garage somewhere.

I have that Houdini set (and Kevin is correct about the manufacturer). It's a fantastic set: all paper. Had it as a kid, 1972 or so.
