John Mendoza has had several of these go through his hands. He might be able to point you in the right direction.

Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
Anyone know if he made them in quarter sized for more close range use?
Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
I do not know about a quarter size ever being made but an old friend did have Bob make him a silver dollar version. I do not know what happened to it after the owner died. This fellow's magic estate just seemed to vanish. Anyway not all of these were half dollar size.

Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
Jonathan, I am pretty sure you can use a quarter in the version made for the half dollar. What makes the Kline version so deceptive, is the wood turning on the base. It does not look like a half dollar could fit in the base, standing upright. You would lose a little bit of that deceptivness, if a quarter was used instead. I have sold a dozen Copentro's in the last twenty five years. I do not recall ever seeing a quarter version available. Probably. because it would not be as visible from a distance. Garry Hayes

the first twelve were made in walnut. they had a bent nail release. from there on out, cherry with the ball release.
one of the first twelve may be a little difficult to locate.

Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
Garry, I like the item from the Downs book - with the paper cone and book, and see the fancy base as something less than appealing for intimate closeup work. So it's really about getting that basic mechanism for me. But as a compromise - doing the trick with a few borrowed quarters seems pretty good - maybe embed the base into the book?

Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
Jon;
There would be a few technical/practical issues with mounting the mechanism within a "book". The shot glass sits in a turned depression. The covering goblet also sits in a depression to hold everything in position. In addition the four coin slots need to be concealed. A "book" so prepared would be more fake looking than the wood turned base. The Silver Odyssey version is mounted in a tray - a viable alternative.
A different method might be better for closeup - from the coin vanish to the appearance within the covered glass.

I used the Jack Hughes version for years in my children's shows and it always went well, letting the birthday child catch the last coin themselves - as per Eric Sharp's routine from his book Specialised Children's Entertainment. Never had any problem with it in a drawing room/parlour situation.
You might also consider Pat Page's version which used a special handkerchief and no other props - except perhaps for vanishing the coins.

Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
Thank you for those that look in on this post. I was able to locate a near mint condition original Bob Kline Copenetro (Cherry - with ball release), complete with typed instructions from Bob Kline and the origial two 1/2 popsicle sticks. It is hands down the most beautiful piece of magic I have ever owned.

Re: Wanted: Copenetro - Bob Kline version
That's quite correct, Jim. And for a few years prior to his death, Bob was trying to retrieve one or two of the walnut version to give to his children. Bob didn't even have one of them for himself at that time. He made the original twelve, and then he farmed out the production of the rest, allowing the shift to cherry wood.
Bob never did find any walnut units that owners were willing to sell.

I find this very fascinating. I have a glossy dark brown model with a gold leaf brim. It has a matching coin vanishing stand. The only other model similar to this was a photograph I saw in the Conjurors Magazine that was held by Blackstone Sr.
