How Do You Make This?

Postby TJay » July 20th, 2010, 1:31 am

This will be a bit difficult to explain.

What is the chemical/material used to make flaps on cards that spring back into position? There are several tricks that use this "flap principle" - including The Visual Poker Change seen in Shade.

To emphasize, I'm not just looking to scotch-tape things together . . . the flap must SPRING back into position. I'm thinking rubber cement or liquid latex??

Best instructions on how to do this are by Marty Martini (yes, that's what he calls himself) in either book or DVD format. Look for "The Art of Card Splitting" by Martini.

The material you are looking for is called "dental dam". It is also used for a coin penetration effect by Lubor Fiedler.

It is available at dental supply houses, and adult novelty/sex toy shops.

Don England has a pretty scarce video tape with some instructions on how to make acrobatic cards, I believe.
