Super Magic Shop "Denny & Lee's"

Postby Rennie » June 21st, 2010, 2:19 pm

I was not sure where I could post this, so will put it here.
I had just posted on The Magic Caf asking for a copy of instructions. Someone suggested contacting Denny & Lee's Magic Studio. This I did, asking for the instructions, but expecting a "sorry but no". Instead here is the answer I received:

"Hi Renald,
No problem. Plesse send me your mailing address and I'll get a copy of the instructions out to you right away.
Denny"
After sending my address and offering to pay, here is Denny's response:

"No cost. Glad to help out. It will go out to you today.
Denny"

Now I think that is just fantastic. My suggestion of course, anyone looking for a magic dealer that treats you like that deserves our business!

I believe that a "mensch" is a good person if I'm remembering the word correctly.

I had a similar experience with David Acer a while back. I purchased one of his effects on eBay from a third party but two pages of instructions were missing. I contacted David and offered to pay for the instructions and instead he sent them to me free of charge.

Rennie,
My problem is your lack of Yiddish comprehension. :)
Other than that, I have no problem you and wish you the best.
This will help: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/mensch

Denny cares about what's good for magic and what's good for his customers.

If you are serious about your magic, he's your guy, and is the best argument extant to continue to patronize brick and mortar stores.

Denny IS the best!

If you haven't been to Denny's shop you're missing out. Not only is he an honest and ethical BUSINESSMAN, but he's a great magician with a world of practical performing knowledge. Denny can steer you both toward and away from (and he WILL do both) books and effects based on your particular performance requirements and personal experience.

All you have to do is ask.

So ask already! ;-)

I live about 3 hours from Denny's shop.
ON my very first visit I introduced myself to Denny ( luckily he was there) explaining I am a hobbyist more than anything but with a great love of the art.
After looking around a bit with Denny answering any questions I had, he asked me if I wanted to see something. Of course I said yes.
We left the main building and went to the building next door. In it was years of pieces of magic history Denny had collected, but a better word would be preserved, over the years.
I just stood in awe as he would take a piece and tell me who it belonged to in the past. The man is just amazing.

Apologies for raining on this particular parade, however I'm still waiting to receive a replacement for an item I ordered from this emporium several years ago and which turned up defective.

After exchanging a few e-mails with the great man, he agreed to send on a replacement when, ahem, he got more in stock.

I'm still waiting...

Cheers

Andrew
