Entertaining Exposure

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Postby El Mystico » June 6th, 2010, 7:54 am

A sweet example of exposure being even more entertaining than thee 'magic'

check out the video - then go back to the start and click on the link to take you to the split screen.

Huh? You think they faked the 'making of' vid for a pop promo?

Never mind. I was being had by my failure to recognize the film element along with the behind the screen shenannigans, after watching the latter. Very easy on the eyes. Very well done.

Given that she mimes raising the screen - what do you feel was done after that performance as rehearsed?

All of it?

It was an exercise in split screen effect, like the Brown lottery thing...

mr goat, look at the lighting when she steps in front of the projector which seems not to shine upon those behind the couch.

I saw this a while ago. I think it's a very clever and entertaining video, despite the very forgettable song.

Isn't it obvious that the 'exposure/rehearsal' video was released to increase the interest in the song and artist, helping the (albeit limited) viral aspect of the thing? We are discussing it here, and it's been on at least two other fora in the past few months. I doubt it would have blipped on our collective radars if it were simply released as a one off video.

I think the most amusing thing is the very start, when the clapperboard operator says 'Take 57'.

As for the projector in the rehearsal clip, it's not even on during the take...

Take care, Ian
