For Immediate Release

We at Magic At The Beach wish to thank all of the guests at our most recent event here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, January 14 - 16, 2010. It was because of you that our event was such a tremendous success.

Our dates for 2010 were announced believing that there would be no conflict with any other events. In the end however our event was run concurrent with another event here in South Carolina. We are aware and concerned about the controversy of holding two events here in the state of South Carolina on the same weekend and the negative impact it had on the magic community. This was never our intention. Although the holiday weekend would have been ideal for us at the beach we realize that our brothers in Columbia have strong ties for that date in 2011.

Magic has been first and foremost in our lives and it is our wish that we all move forward together towards unification and with the over all goal of having fun and a good time. Therefore Magic At The Beach is announcing a date change for our event. Our sole reason for changing our date is in order to help maintain that unity here in the state of South Carolina. So with that in mind we have decided to schedule our event for January 20 - 22, 2011 to allow all magi the opportunity to attend both events if they wish.

We were pleasantly surprised with the incredible success of our event last year and it is our hope that Magic At The Beach can continue to move forward as we strive to bring professional acts, incredible lectures, top notch shows and the best of fellowship for our brothers and sisters in magic.

Thanks again for all the support you have shown us and hope to see you next year at Magic At The Beach 2011.

Sincerely,

David Tanner & Roman LePree

It's that time again to start preparing for one of the newest, freshest, and premeire magic conventions in the Southeast - Magic At The Beach. Last year was a hit among attendees, the public audience, and the headliners that appeared.

The public show sold tickets to more than 1,600 people that enjoyed a night of magic filled with champions; and this upcoming year will be no different.

We have just announced two of our headliners this week.

The great TOPAS will be headlining our Gala show benefiting The Children's Museum of South Carolina along side up-and-coming French magician NESTOR HATO. Both have already left their handprint in the field of magic.

TOPAS was one of the youngest FISM World Champions in the history of magic and has won this title twice. NESTOR HATO recently won the Golden Lions Head Award at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas.

We will be announcing more performers and lecturers very soon so visit our website and signup for our email blasts. You can also 'friend' us on Facebook at "Magic At The Beach".

Save the dates and we will see you in the upcoming year in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

We'll see you there !!

Hi Mike,

Awesome line up again!

Topas and Roxanne are awesome both on and off stage.

You might want to however amend the part about Nestor Hato who didn't win the Golden Lion Head Award in Vegas. That was Trevor Watters and Lorena. Nestor won the SAMORTI award.

Have a great convention ...

We at Magic At The Beach, LLC have learned that IBM Ring 334, The Grand Strand Magicians Society of Myrtle Beach, SC, has booked Aldo Colombini in for a lecture and workshop October 26, 2010 at the Magic Loft here at the beach. While completing the details for this appearance we learned of Rachels current health problems and wondered what we could do to help with her expenses beyond having the Ring book them for a local lecture. While discussing this with Bill Groome of Madhatter Magic he offered this
When you register for Magic at the Beach 2011 and make a $10 donation youll receive a free Colombini DVD in your convention swag bag. Madhatter Magic is donating several hundred DVDs and 100% of all donations will go to Aldo and Rachel to assist with their medical expenses. You may help by going to the registration page at www.MagicAtTheBeach.org and selecting the "Donation to Rachel" section. This offer is only good while supplies last. If you want to additionally donate directly to the Colombinis you certainly may.

We encourage you to visit http://www.magic4miracles.com/ to learn more about Rachels situation. We at MATB2011 along with the entire magic community should keep Rachel and Aldo in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this very difficult time. It is our sincere hope that we can help these two who have given so much to the art of magic.

MATB2011 is proud to announce the appearance of Levent. Levent is a rarity in the field of comedy magic. His show is a mixture of masterful sleight of hand combined with hilarious comedy performed at an extraordinarily fast pace. In addition Levent is also a noted vaudeville/magic historian as well as a lecturer. The following is the review of his lecture as reported by Genii Magazine after Levent's lecture in Las Vegas:

Levents presentation was captivating. Smoothly integrating live performance with supplementary multimedia. Levent commanded the attendees attention and educated everyone on magic, comedy, and showmanship. Another important component of the lecture was a list of rules for onstage sleight-of-hand. This lecture was the best of the convention. It set a high bar which no other performance or interview even approached. GENII MAGAZINE

Topas, Nestor Hato, Jay Sankey, Nathan Kranzo, Chris Capehart, and now Levent !!

"Could it possibly get any better?"

Glad you asked me that ... Yes, there is more to come so stay tuned.

Visit us at www.magicatthebeach.org to register and learn more about our incredible resort and conference center at the Ocean Dunes Resort. Room rates are $49/night and ALL rooms are ocean front.

We'll see you at MATB2011, 20-22 January 2011, Myrtle Beach, SC.

We are ready to announce another dynamic duo to our line-up. This husband and wife team is one of magic's greatest kept secrets in the performing world of comedy and mentalism. We are so privelaged to have CHRISTIAN AND KATALINA join our award winning cast of magicians.

Since meeting in the Army in 1994, while jumping out of airplanes, and being on the road for nearly a decade, Christian & Katalina are entertainment experts. They take audiences on a series of mind-bending adventures. When Christian is not showering Katalina with affection on stage, he might be predicting the next three moves you will make. Katalinas ability to have sightless vision drops the jaws of even the most jaded audience.

Now we have magic for everyone planning to attend: close-up, comedy, kid-show, manipulation, stage, theatre, and now mentalism. This is sure to be a convention you don't want to miss.

$49/night ocean front rooms, 3 days of magic with old and new friends along with great lectures, workshops and shows.

This year our Welcome Party theme is "The Magic of the Sideshow" and our guest entertainer is someone that you'll recognize from last seasons run of "America's Got Talent" ... making it his mission to keep the old traditions of the sideshow alive - it's Coney Island Chris !! Mixing equal parts funny and freaky, Coney Island Chris draws on a rich history of traditional sideshow feats of human strength and endurance popularized on circus midways and along the boardwalk at Coney Island. Entertainment blogger Andrea Reiher described Chris as a terrifying Jerry Lewis. This act alone is worth every penny of the price you'd pay for admission so don't miss it !!

Introducing a new addition to our line-up it's:

Charlie Frye & Co.

He plays the rubber-faced, put-upon juggler/magician. Sherry plays his elaborately bored, beautiful assistant.

Charlie amazes; Sherry yawns.

Together, they have thrilled audiences around the world --Australia, Africa, Europe, Asia -- in many exotic venues. Return engagements are common; so are appearances before distinguished audiences such as the Royal family of Monaco, and the Sultan of Malaysia. Besides being one of the worlds most in sought after American specialty acts, they are also in constant demand throughout the United States, where they were named Las Vegas Specialty Act of the Year for their star billing in the Folies Bergere. Other prestigious appearances have included opening for Liza Minnelli, starring in the internationally syndicated television special, "The World's Top Shows", and a featured appearance in Tom Hanks' film, "That Thing You Do."

They will be at Magic at the Beach 2011 January 20 - 22nd, 2011 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

To All Magic At The Beach Convention Guests,

During a recent site visit to the Ocean Dunes Resort & Conference Center we learned that the venue has taken it upon themselves to begin renovations of many of the ocean front rooms in the building connected to the conference center. They advise us that this renovation project may or may not be completed prior to our arrival for Magic At The Beach. So we have negotiated a couple options for our registrants while still maintaining the exceptional price of $49 US/night.

The resort is actually made up of several buildings on the property. Our Main building, directly connected to the conference center, is the focus of the renovations. There may be a few of the ocean front rooms still available there as well as ocean view rooms. If our registrants want an ocean front room yet all rooms in the Main building are booked, the resort will accommodate the request by placing them in the adjacent building which is a short walk across the parking lot. This is the Sands Resort section and these units are typically more expensive.

The resort is also offering us another option which would be particularly nice for those sharing rooms. Across the parking lot in the other direction are what the resort refers to as the Towers. These Towers are essentially beautiful suites with a full kitchen and living room and are ocean view. Typically these rent for several hundred dollars a week however the resort will honor our $49 US/night rate for our guests coming in for the magic weekend. You may view room layouts at:

http://www.sandsresorts.com/resorts/oce ... youts.aspx .

Please remember that when booking a room with the resort it is best to call them directly rather than attempt a reservation via their website. This way you can speak to a receptionist directly, advise them you are registered for MATB2011, and ask them any related questions regarding room placement. If you have already made a reservation it is advisable that you contact the resort and confirm your room placement. The toll free number for the resort is 1-800-726-3783.

Awesome Swag Bags. Incredible Welcome Reception. Great Line-up of Performers and Lecturers.
Cash Prizes for Close-up and Stage Contests. World's Greatest Magic Dealers.
"Champions of Magic" Gala Show.
There's still time.

Magic At The Beach
Close-up contest winners:
2nd place, Ron Conley, Myrtle Beach, SC,
1st place, Joe Jesse, Myrtle Beach, SC

Stage Contest winners:
2nd place, Steve Owens, Torrence, CA,
1st place, Joe Jesse, Myrtle Beach, SC

Great Gala show - all acts were fabulous.

Brandon & Hannah opened with their tight illusion act,
Chris Capehart introduced Christian & Katalina, nice, fun folks, solid act,
Master of Ceremonies, Chris Capehart took a turn and had fun with the crowd,
with Charlie Frye & Sherry closing the first half the show with his juggling act.
Awesome.
After intermission Charlie returned to the stage and performed his magic set.
This act is always an audience favorite.
Levent did his very funny routine and Topas closed the show.

Farewell Party, I think, is the only thing all weekend that ran late ...

Thanks to :

Dave Tanner, Roman LePree, Michelle Householder, Matt McCoy
and other staff and crew added as necessary
and who kindly volunteered their services.

See you next year,
