These prices all sound suspicious to me. A complete run of Genii starts in 1936, not 1937 as listed.

And there's no way he's selling a full file of the printed original Sphinx for $400.

So, everyone tread cautiously here and do your homework before making a purchase. Call Gale and get detailed information on these files before buying.

I just went to the link again, and it does not appear to be the same as where I arrived earlier today. Now, I do not see the magazines listed the way they were earlier. Is it just me, or did they vanish?

I found them. Guess I didn't remember how I looked before. I, too, am very skeptical about the "complete files". Looks like all of the "complete files" are being sold by the same person. Does anyone know him?

As Gale explained to me, many these he bought as "complete files" but he probably never verified every issue was there. I think these are a heck of deal but you need to get comfortable that you are getting what you expect. He just wants to get rid of them. As far as whether any one knows him, maybe you have heard of the Gamolo Levitation?

I know Gale, but I also know that full files of these magazines don't sell for those prices. And you can't label them as "full files" if you haven't verified that every issue in the file is there.

Matt, you haven't answered the essential question about what exactly someone is going to get in buying a file of the Sphinx for $400.

Richard- I have updated the descriptions of these magazine collections.

One thing that is for sure, you will get a a heck of a lot of magazines with each lot.

If someone is interested, please call or e-mail Gale for more information.

At least you've met the minimum requirement: stating that the seller does not know if all the issues are in the file.
He would probably have better luck selling them if he could be bothered to list which issues are missing.
