Do you own an "Anything Is Possible" bottle?

Postby Jamie D. Grant » June 21st, 2008, 9:44 pm

Hi!

Do you own an "Anything Is Possible" bottle?

www.whatizit.net

And, if so, how did you hear about it? I'm finally getting my websites updated and am planning on doing some advertising. Genii seems like my most logical choice as it seems to fit my target demographic (older- not old, mind you, appreciative of art, willing to buy them a gifts, etc.) but am wondering if there's other routes I should be looking at as well...

Thanks!

I have one. I bought it from you a year ago at Kramien's Jamboree. It sits in my office at work. I don't know how you would advertize to them but I always thought one potential outlet would be to corporations. They would make great sales and executive presents. Kind of a trophy with a theme that the salesman was able to "accomplish the impossible".

Hiya Brian!

Thanks for letting me know! I missed Kramien's this year but am hoping to make some of the other conventions coming up...

Nice bottles, I made a few of these years ago after finding out about Harry Eng's bottles, which are incredible! You must be a very patient man Jamie!

i also created some after seeing Harry's bottle many many many years ago...

http://www.naquada.co.uk/2004/03/09/whe ... ound-hole/

the first picture is one of harrys (obviously) the other two are mine.. and are just a pack of cards inside a small necked bottle..

the sylvester bottle has a deck of tweety pie /looney toons cards in it with the joker glue half way out of the deck and signed...

the other bottle is an open deck of 52 loose cards...

chop sticks and a bit of patience!!

The ping pong balls were much easier (although I dont have a photo).. and just needed a few hours in the kitchen ;)

No, I don't own one. However my best friend Zach does. It is amazing. I love it. Right now It is probably on display in his house while he is in Japan for the next two years. It is definitely a talking piece.

He'll be able to see them in Japan as well. Tokyo Magic bought a bunch of them a while ago!

Just an interesting note~ when I type in "Anything Is Possible bottle" into Google, this is the first thing that comes up. It even beats out my own website, lol! Great work, Richard!

With fear of boring Mr Field...

If you changed the anchor text in your sig to be

"Anything is possible bottle" - the perfect gift for magicians

With the words in quotes as the link, that will help your site.

If you used "anything is possible bottle" in the title tags that would help.

If you bought www.anythingispossiblebottle.com" that would help the absolute most.

If you did those three things and were not above genii in google in 3 months I would be VERY surprised.

It could certainly help, if people type in 'cards in a bottle' - which I think they would. It's certainly a catchy and EASY TO SPELL domain. Which is great.

Love the Banksy picture!

Hiya Jonathan!

I've actually been working on something very special over the last year that (might) be revealed at Magic-Con...

Thanks Jamie,

That tends to not work out too well. For example, who wants to be told that Hannah Montana's going away soon and that the second of this season's Dr Who episodes is going to be a tough one to sit through?

Would you be okay receiving requests for paperback books in bottles, or maybe hardbacks for collectors?

Surely he does not wish to be called Cassandra, :)

I got one of these bottles from Jamie right about Thanksgiving. When my mother-in-law came down for Thanksgiving dinner, I gave it to her, because she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I wanted her to have the inspiration an impossible object can give someone.

I can't say that the bottle made the cancer go away. But the surgery did. The person who diagnosed it as stage 4 was wrong. It was stage 2, which is much easier to deal with.

She has pulled through quite well, and she is going to be with us for several more years.

The bottle did provide some inspiration, though!

I own one after I won it on the 816 magic podcast from one of their contests. Looks great on my desk! Great work Jamie!

Jamie, visited your site, loved the AIP and the one inch campains. Even an inch of encouragemet can help sometimes. You should have a web link or blog link posted on the inch, Or put the "one inch" tag line for your web page and have a bunch of folks hit it for you so it puts you on the top of the google search list.
Just picked up two softballs signed by Dot Richardson, 2x USA gold shortstop, to put in bottles. going to send em to St Judes to be auctioned for cancer patients

James, that's awesome!

I've been so lucky with the "AIP" bottle sales, that I really feel a true sense of joy whenever I leave one on the streets or, in this year's example, give one out. It's important, I feel, from an artistic standpoint.

And besides, surely this will get me the cover of Genii one day, lol.

Your pal,

jamie

Hey Jamie,

You should put a bottle on Angry Bob's desk!

Keep up the good work,

Ha!

In reference to another thread on here:

http://www.geniimagazine.com/forums/ubb ... Post246164

This lady drove 2 hours to find me so that she could have a bottle for her silent auction that raises money for cancer. Her daughter had passed away and she's started her own charity in her honour.

I would give away a million bottles for moments like these...
