Annemann's first performance (maybe)

The new issue of Genii is incredible. I don't know (yet) if it is my favorite issue of the Kaufman era, but it certainly is the most impressive. Congratulations to all involved.

It made me start poking around for historical references to Annemann. I've found what is likely the earliest account of an Annemann performance:

The Binghamton Press May 23, 1917 p 16 col 1.
"Pageant will be Given in Waverly"
"Arrangements are practically completed for the "Dream of Fairyland" pageant to be given Friday evening in the auditorium of the Waverly High School by children of the local schools.

The cast of characters follow: ... band of evil fairies: ....Theodore Anneman . . . . "


Note that young Anneman would have been about 10 here.

The spelling of his name strikes me:

ANNEMAN with one "N" in the end!

I believe his adopted father was Stanley Anneman (with one "N" in the end). Ted added the second 'n' in 1930.
