Maybe:

Magic With Science by Walter B. Gibson, copyright 1968

http://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Magic-Tr ... 878257862#

A lot of science books aimed at children and teenagers have
clever experiments that utilize magnetism, check your local library

I once saw a magic book titled "Magneticoins." It was published by Paul Diamond in 1971. I should have bought it when I had the chance.

Here's a list of topics in that book:

Steve Dusheck has explored this to some extent. He's a clever guy.
There's also a showpiece in Art of Closeup magic volume 1 using different colored magnets (red, blue...)

Rachel Columbini has a nice little booklet that comes with a small set of magnets. The booklet is titled Magnets for Magic, costs $10, and is available from the website she runs with Aldo...

Two more sources....

"Magnetic Magic" published by Klutz books
"Dot's Magic" by Bob McAllister, some great effects using tiny neodymium magnets.

The reason magnets work is to do with Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity.

magnets/relativity - wikipedia

I saw a thing in a Martin Gardner book which could be used in a mentalism trick/mental card effect. The idea actually made use of Quantum Mechanics. An interesting idea might be a show where you do some tricks - then teach how the tricks are done - and teach the science behind the tricks. Perhaps that is what Science Magic is? I am guessing a similar thing happens in Gospel Magic. You do a trick and then talk about how it a metaphor for a wider moral/religious teaching...

Waaay off topic - apologies! BTW The Quantum Mechanics thingy can be found in the following book:

Martin Gardner Book

What is more relevent about the book above is that it contained a very clever self-contained levitation of a paperclip (which could be kept on permanent display). It makes use of a jam jar, a magnet, some sticky tape and some invisible thread. You should work it out from that...

Wikipedia is a good example of why "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing." In attempting to explain how magnetism works, they have ignored the relationship between electro-magnetism and space-time expansion...but none of that information or dis-information will help a magician who merely wants a couple of magic books containing tricks that use magnets as the modus operandi.

On my site, I have "Magnetic Personality" and "Feather Flight" in The Wizards' Journal #2, although electricity creeps into the latter effect and goes completely overboard in the "Electronic Crystal Ball."

"Pom Pom Critters" in The Wizards' Journal #13, and "Hank the Ghost Hank" in The Wizards' Journal #16 make use of magnets in a variety of ways.

"Talking Greeting Cards" in The Wizards' Journal #17 also uses magnets, but surprisingly "Baubles, Bangles, Rings and Beads" does not (much), but uses uses a new technology attractant far removed from magnetism. If I ever finish "What's Next Exposed", you can add that to the list in The Wizards' Journal #17. Sorry they are not all grouped together in a single book, but you can put together your own collection if you wish.

Don't forget "Magnetrix" by Theo Dore - Published by Micky Hades, 1971. I think this is out-of-print. It has 24 tricks covered over 54 pages.

Now you can get magnets safely put under your skin, anyone met a magician that has had this done for an effect?

That would be dedication.

Believe it or not a guy came into Midwest Magic (shop in Franklin Park, Illinois)6 months or so ago who had a magnet implanted under his skin.Didn't believe him at first until he started to show us some stuff using it and let us feel it there.

This was done deliberately several years ago. See http://www.bmezine.com/news/guest/20060331.html and http://www.wired.com/gadgets/mods/news/2006/06/71087 for the details.
