Years after his death, skeptics debated the actual validity to Edison's claim that he was working on a device to speak with the dead. Now, uncovered for the first time,

The items pictured are reworked "Ghost in the Machine" by Lebanon Circle in the UK.
The machine to talk with the dead was thought to be a hoax that Edison played on reporters. He discussed many ideas about human magnetic fields, and they continue
to exist after the body dies, and there might be a way to get in contact with that force, but he never got past the talking stage-even though Dunninger said he saw a prototype.

Been wondering how one might distinguish between the dead, the "yet to be born", those in alternate universes, and aliens trying to mess with us by telling us what they think we want to hear.

Getting Edison involved in a mentalism item seens like fun - again thanks.

Dan at Lebanon Circle in the UK, and Tim Wiseman at Hokus Pocus both offered machines that talk with the dead. My purpose was to take the Lebanon Circle apparatus to another level-incorporating the Edison myth with enhanced elements, such as the authentic decals, strange wooden box, voice tube, original Edison 1904 light bulb, and patent copy. The more you convince a group of sitters that they're watching authentic spirit activity, the more impacting the seance performance.

Well I for one, after just finding this thread, am extremely appreciative of the photos of your unique "Edison" apparatus. I got a particular kick out of reading the Patent application--it really tickled me--and the magazine ad.

I also very much enjoyed the Magic Cafe Stories book cover which was also found among the Edison pictures.
