This just in via CNN - health about our ability to make decisions and how we do so:

If as discussed we have two available tracks of thinking about a puzzling matter - it behooves us to guide others to remain on the sentimental track which gives us the edge in our well planned schemes.
much to read. some to ponder. enjoy. it's about how we design our derailroad track to lean their train off to one track which goes down the garden path and into some sort of surprising detour.
For reference, consider the cusp surface (see Rene Thom) with two apparently parallel lines starting near the cusp and diverging from there with one line on either side of the cusp trough - and a dramatic flow which appears to go in one direction yet manages to divert the actual state of affairs from the apparent or "as expected from casual everyday experience" before revealing the outcome as due to our brand of theatrical magic.
