Re: Criss Angel on Larry King Live!
Summary as it happened:
Summary:
Is it me or does Larry seem bored to death?
Nice mention for Jeff McBride though.
Ohh.. nice.. Jimmy Grippo slips into the conversation.
Future plans? Wants to ride his motorcycle to the top of the Luxor and Vanish when he reaches the light.
Magic Influences: Houdini & Richiardi
Apparently, he's still married.. battling over money. I had no idea that the divorce was still in progress.
Holly makes her appearance. We move into People magazine mode. "First Public Interview." ::yawn::
Bleh, Bleh, Bleh.. "How we met..." Bleh, Bleh, Bleh "Our first date was at Believe Premier"
Good lord.. Can Larry say "The Mansion" one more time?
More about Hef... Bleh, Bleh, Bleh
Most proud of award from Make A Wish foundation
Bracelet = Love Live Forever with Mother & Father's initials.
Larry tells Criss that he's one of his favorite people.

I don't do card...anything, but that was a pretty powerful illusion!
He said that most of his illusion are original. Really?

Great PR for Believe ... and from the snippets shown, the visuals still look amazing ... the 100% attendance figures for the show - though - seem a little optimistic ;-)

No, he stated that attendence was 108% ... what the hell does that mean? Best-selling show in Vegas?

Wellllll, TECHNICALLY, 100% of the people who attend the show...attend the show. ;-)

Re: Criss Angel on Larry King Live!
Larry did... Larry did... he briefly talked about my Uncle Jimmy's phenomenal card masterstrokes after Criss's typical card thingy. How sad Criss did not acknowledge my Uncle Jimmy nor the brilliance and genius he had with cards. Card for card my Uncle Jimmy would make Criss look like he was doing childs play.
About the attendance [Criss stated for Believe], one can find seat fillers anywhere.
108%? That would mean 8% were sat in extra chairs or standing. Yeah, right. Like Luxor or the fire marshals would allow over occupancy.

Do we think that Criss knows who Jimmy Grippo was? Keep in mind, his major inspiration was Houdini. What was that famous quote about Houdini's lack of skill with sleight of hand? Putting his hand in a paper bag or pile of leaves?

Re: Criss Angel on Larry King Live!
Houdini's abilities with a deck of cards are not unimpressive. There is film of him performing adept card manipulations, and in Gaultier's Magic Without Apparatus he is stated to have done an excellent Pass. He was known to perform the effect with the Pass of causing a face-up selection to jump from the middle to the top of the pack.
There is no reason to believe that Criss Angel knows who Jimmy Grippo is other than having possibly heard some stories since he went to live in Vegas.

The MGM call center laughed and laughed at Criss' "108%"

BTW, Cirque would never use House Seats or any similar service for their latest and greatest. That would be like a public admission of failure.

Re: Criss Angel on Larry King Live!
Criss should have dodged the question and just said 'the show was doing really well' rather than resort to fictitious numbers ...
I understand the need to maintain PR, but you just look silly claiming the show is over sold and the #1 selling show in Vegas - when nothing could be further from the truth.

Re: Criss Angel on Larry King Live!
The "buzz" in Vegas is that all the preview shows of "Believe" were awful. All audience members who exited the show stated they thought it was complete crap. They appreciated the Circe creative work, but the star was a flop.
