Long Tack Sam
I was unaware of THIS DOCUMENTARY on Long Tack Sam, magician, acrobat and vaudevillian as well as one of China's first Super Stars. Has anyone seen this and what do you think if so? Thanks!

There is a thread about it already here, started by his grandaughter, I think.

Re: Long Tack Sam
It's an excellent documentary by his great-granddaughter, Ann Marie Fleming. She also turned it into a book, widely available for just $14 with lots of photos and stories of magicians (Malini, Mulholland, etc.). I believe the documentary won a film festival award when it was originally released in 2004.

You'll find more info on the film at www.longtacksam.com
Richard's right, it's an excellent documentary, with very creative uses of animation and "animating" of still photographs. It has aired in the past on cable, either on the Sundance channel or IFC, can't remember which.
