The old jacket in front of the legs routine..where the one shoe is 'adjoined' to the other...........can anyone recommend the best magnets( to fit in the shoes) and where these can be purchased? Thanks.

The "best" probably depends on your shoes, and how well they conform to your feet.

A good source of strong magnets is old computer hard drives.
