Ted Lesley has passed away.

Postby Bill Palmer » October 24th, 2008, 9:10 pm

I just got this message from Alexander de Cova.

Sorry for that bad news, but Ted passed away today at 14.00 european time.
he fell simply asleep and all was peaceful and without pain.

regards alex

Ted and I were good friends. He was an incredible genius when it came to inventing and routining magic. His generosity knew no bounds.

He will be missed.

Sad indeed. Shared many hours with Ted at PEA gatherings in the 90s. He will be missed.

He lectured in El Paso a few years ago it was one of two lectures here in the states. We were honored to have him here and he will be missed. RIP

If that was the 2003 lecture, it was part of an eight city tour. I drove him from Houston to San Antonio, to El Paso, Denver, Wichita, Fort Worth, Kansas City, Chicago, Ken Klosterman's Salon de Magie, and back to Houston. It was nearly 6,000 miles.

During the trip, I got a chance to see how his creative genius flourished.

I think ill watch one of his dvds tonight.I met Ted twice, and thought he was a great man, with an incredible tallent for routining magic, and mentalism.
His inventive mind has provided the community with some of its most powerfull moments, and i am sure he will be missed by all.

rest in peace..

If you want to really understand what a trouper Ted was, when you watch the DVD's, bear in mind that the reason he was somewhat hesitant when he moved around was that he was in the beginning stages of Parkinson's, and his medications had not been adjusted properly.

He did not let this get in the way of making the video.

Ted had a couple of items he was working on when he was in the assisted living facility. One of these is a variation on the Marvoyan Money Miracle. When we did his tour, he taught a basic version of the effect. By the time we got back to Houston, we had eight different ways to do it.

He came up with a final version that is so cool that it will scare people!

That is bad news. Another great magic thinker is gone. I hate to repeat what everyone else above said, but it's so true. What a loss.
