MagicPedia surpases 1,500 articles

Postby Joe Pecore » September 17th, 2008, 7:35 am

Come check out the latest at MagicPedia. We could use your help with verifying accuracy and adding even more content.

Another initiative we are starting up is to have a better integration with Wikipedia Magicians. Wikipedia is currently missing many masters in our field. Ideally, we would like them linked so that Wikipedia which has the general information about a magician would have a link to MagicPedia to get more specific magic related information.

Come on over and help out if you can!

Let's see: http://geniimagazine.com/wiki/index.php/Multiple_Coins

yup, there sure are a few routines in coin magic using more than one coin...

The link to the wikipedia magicians page shows only one media reference - and that's to a guy dressed in white onstage with what appears to be a goat or sheep.

At least there are not (yet) links to the P2P sites of files where much better information (as in real books and videos of accurate techincal information) can be had.

Is it okay to post completely fictitious and misleading items up there about stuff that never was? Seems a perferct place for the bizarrists and Tlonists to try out stories.

As you can see, MagicPedia still need help by knowledgeable people to update it. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort also. Yours and everyone else's help is appreciated.

Are the completely fictitious and misleading items up on MagicPedia or Wikipedia?

Wow! Jonathan, I'm not sure if you've written anything for MagicPedia, but the site could definitely use someone with your knowledge and insight. I think that would be more productive than the tone and attitude you displayed in your above post.

Ben, have you considered learning some about magic? I'd offer you some knowlege and insight about what you wrote but unless you clearly state that you want to learn about language (spells) and meaning (emotional content) it would be wrong. And so I will wonder instead why I care to write this - and maybe hold onto some hope the references to bizarrists, tlonists, and the P2P situation will be of use to others.

Real question about the magipedia: is it protected from google searches?

Reason: hope and pity - probaby not the most promissing of cornerstones of an edifice

No. Should it be?

re: Should the magipedia be protected from google searches?

IMHO yes if one wishes to refrain from exposing magic data in public.

How about the Genii forum (which is also currently not protected by google)?

IMHO that would also be worth considering. Why leave our language and reference citations in public view?

I hope we turn up in every single Google search on the word magic. Please let it be so.
