Cool! Your freely chosen, signed card, appears on a piece of toast. That's a new one.

I thought Penn And Teller did some like that with toast??
I believe Rudy Coby did a trick with a toaster??
But maybe not the same as this.

It isn't new. Paul Daniels did it years ago on UK TV and I have a feeling there was a marketed magic item for doing this at home...

In fact, it's the best thing since ... sliced bread.

Though it appears easy, this trick requires work ... no loafing.

To return to the topic, I remember Joe Given doing a trick with toast (I don't remember if it was a card revelation) 20 years ago.

John Moehring just emailed me with the info that Sid Fleischman published a toast trick (called A Toast to Magic) in his 1942 book Call to the Witness. The name of a selected playing card (value and suit)appeared on a piece of toast.

Crumbs. Looks like I started something. I've been burning to respond but it wasn't breakfast time over here in Australia. You should be able to do more than burn a boring card into your toast; you could have something that says "You thought of Paris, a Lamborgini, and your favourite spread is Grapefruit Delite".

Could be the best thing since ....

A1exM,

No, it wasn't Baker, it was Klosterman.
