I'm trying to locate an illusion:
Arm is inserted into rectangular box, then I believe the middle part of the arm is loward to give a separation effect. I've seen it a few times in very few catalogs... think it's called disembodied arm or something similar.. possible made by Owens..
So the search continues..

Re: Illusion search..
What you are describing sounds like Abbott's "Modernistic Amputation" (which I think was actually invented by U.F. Grant).

Re: Illusion search..
Nope, that's not it, but good try..
The effect I am thinking of, and have seen, put's this to shame..
The middle part of the arm (I believe) is lowered/ seperated from the rest of the arm and hand.. Uses a M#$*%^ I believe.

Re: Illusion search..
You're Welcome. I don't think it uses a mirror but I saw David Copperfield use this very illusionette twice on stage and it looks far more amazing than it may in a catalog description.
It's good.

David Copperfield did use it. Wellington sells it exclusively.

If it doesn't use a mirror, then I'm completely fooled.
Re: Illusion search..
I think Peter Loughran has a PDF describing how to build one of these if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Illusion search..
It does use a mirror. Two, in fact, as it utilizes the periscope principle (I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by saying so). This is one of my favorite pieces to perform in my show. It kills, and the audience loves it.
Wait, I mean it sucks and everyone hates it. Don't buy one.
p.s. Peter Loughran does not offer a PDF of this. As Richard said, Wellington has the exclusive rights from Larry White.
