I'm having the damnest time trying to get my avatar on this board. As a computer illiterate, I'm not having much luck. Any help Brad? I did send you some sort of inner messaging thing last week. But, I did find a great looking magic saw-n-half themed avatar for someone. http://avatars.jurko.net/65/
Go about six lines down. Great huh?

You mean this one?
The best way would be for Brad to upload a copy to the Genii collection so we don't have to hit the image from other websites (this one is posted on my website).

I've got one posted on a website, but for some reason it is not working... Yes, that was the one I liked..

If you can open it in your web browser, just copy the URL and paste it into the Forum's prefs page. You'll need the full URL:
http://www.whateveryourservernameis/wha ... onname.gif
That sort of thing...

Bump.
I've had three people in the past two days, ask me about the magic "floating box" avatar.
The site and page are listed above.
And now it's Hammer Time!

Re: Cool magic animated avatar for someone
Personally, I find animated avatars to be a distraction. I guess I'm showing my age, but if I want stuff to jump around on the screen, I'll watch TV or go to a theater.
This forum allows one to turn off avatars altogether (in "My Preferences"), which is nice, but there's a middle ground. My browser of choice, Opera, has a setting to show the pics, but not animate them. Other browsers might have that setting as well. This way, I can see Richard's lovely blue whatchamacallit, but not have to wonder if David Regal's thingie is going to crawl across the screen. ;-)

My avatar is the face of the god Mara from the ride Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye at Disneyland.

Oh... I assumed it was the stopper from a Victorian-era perfume bottle, perhaps recovered from the Titanic. But a bit of googling turned up this: http://www.disneylandfinds.com/2008/03/ ... nsion.html leading me to believe you've confused a couple of Disney attractiions.

I don't confuse Disneyland attractions, but I can confuse message boards! I was thinking of my avatar on doombugggies.com! My avatar here is a Bat Stanchion from the Haunted Mansion.

I'm with you DrDanny - especially the dancing ones - I think it's someone trying to sell me a mortage. At least it's not like on my Yahoo page, where stuff swoops over what you're trying to read. Hate that.
Thanks for the tip on keeping the avatars motionless. Probably a case of fun for some, for others distracting.

Ah yes, Bat Stanchion. I saw his act in the Parlour back in the day. Man, that guy could do one heck of a Ball Vase routine....

Brian, you're thinking of Bat Masterson.
