Where can I learn this card trick?

Hello, does anyone know where I can learn this card trick that Dai Vernon is doing in this picture? Thanks.

Judging from the other people at the table, I'm guessing that this is Criss Angel's method for the card rise.

I disagree. First, that's not Dai Vernon in the photo, that's Dr. Hooker (he owned a nite club and had one table completely gimmicked just for this trick -- the two guys in the background were his secret assistants and were actually women dressed as men). Second, the Criss Angel method uses Criss Angel and he's nowhere to be seen in that photo.

In my opinion it is just a posed publicity picture - not a picture of a magician performing a magic trick.

It's in one of the inner secrets books, I don't have them to hand, so cannot find it for you. Someone else will know, when the wags stop posting about Dr Hooker etc.

From memory, the chapter is called 'hanging by a thread'.

Actually, as far as I know, Veernon never published a handling to produce this effect - certainly not in Inner Secrets.
The "wags" suggesting it is a publicity photo are probably on the mark, particularly since the woman is Vernon's wife.

I wish I had it here. I am sure you are right, but I really seem to remember his rising card had one move where it floated right out of the deck like in this picture.

I have it in Dai Vernon's "Inner Card Trilogy" in chapter three called Hanging by a Thread - the Rising Cards, page 27.

If I remember right Vernon did publish a method of the rising cards. But as I said this looks like a posed publicity shot and nothing to do with the rising cards that Vernon published.

I find it interesting that there are three cups on the table for the cups and balls and not enough room to do the trick - unless they clear away a few things off the table.
