youtube goes interactive

Postby Lior » June 5th, 2008, 3:45 am

I was asked by Google people to help and do the first interactive
video on youtube.
Oren Shalom was the magician on the video and did the old
princes card trick.
The magic trick is not important here.
The important thing is all you can do now with interactive videos
on youtube.

the technolgy is very easy to use and everyone can do
something

I know I'm too old to say this, but that was Uber cool.

Is this truly "interactive" since it did not matter what the viewer "clicks" on? It WAS interactive in the sense that it requires you to click something...

It does matter what they click on, in the sense that they will get taken to a different video depending on which card they click. There are six different "result" videos.

Google wanted to show the new interactive feature they have.
The card trick is just to show this ability.
If you watch the end of one of the ending you will be asked to click again on the screen and then see another magic "menue"
to choose and see more effects.
There are many other "cool" effects and other "cool" things you can do with this technology. Magic is just a small part.

I am just happy to be part of the first interactive video from youtube on the web :-)

Don't get me wrong...this sounds like the beginning of something very intersting. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

First Interactive YouTube Video: The Princess Card Trick

True, the Princess Card Trick has been a staple of "interactive" online magic -- but this is the first video that incorporates 2 new YouTube features: annotation and interactivity (by clicking hotspots)... Courtesy of Israeli magician Oren Shalom... Possibly a first step toward exploring and expanding the possibilities of Web magic...
