Spam from 'fredi magic'

Postby mrgoat » April 11th, 2008, 5:56 am

I got spam today from some place called fredi magic. Never heard of them, nor used them.

Anyone else get this?

Trying to work out where they harvested my email address from...

I received one , also...in English, French and Spanish. My Yahoo account put it in the "bulk"...or spam...folder.

I'm in Wichita, Kansas, USA.

I received spam last year from same - suspected that the source was from my Genii forum profile.

As I suspected.

Well that's great, as that is now illegal in the US and the UK

Can everyone who got it post here please and I will make official legal complaints.

I got it as well. I figured they recorded my email address when I visited their website last year to read more about their line of thumb tips.

I tried to get off of the list by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link, but it was disabled.

you just need to either use spamcop.net to report him to the provider and hosts of his website or forward the email and headers to abuse@ovh.net and abuse@theplanet.com.

or you can use the public whois record for his domain:

http://www.whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=frediup&tld=com

and ask him directly why he's spamming people..

Ugh, I just got spammed by those bums, too. And you can't reply to the address from which it was sent, and their "unsubscribe" links don't function. I've just added them to my junk mail filter.

which is illegal in both the UK and USA.. reporting to spam cop, if enough people report will get his mail server blacklisted... = no more sending emails from it as other mail servers will no relay the messages..

there is no excuse for spam...
