Crikey that's weird as hell! And it looks great! The movement of the baby's hand is creepy.
Someone is going to add this to his close-up and and SCORE BIG!

Re: Here's A Strange One
It would be great to place a coin in the closed hand and have the tiny little thumb/hand hold a small wand that taps the closed fist before the coin vanishes. Lots of sick & twisted ideas are sure to come.

Re: Here's A Strange One
Steve Beam and John Riggs did a lot of "work" with the baby hand gag years ago in the Trapdoor magazine.
The magician would vanish a coin. He would then offer to repeat it, showing how it was done. He would place the coin on the base of his thumb and this little hand would creep out and take it.
They were using doll hands. The movement on this one is what makes it so creepy.

Re: Here's A Strange One
The idea of using a baby hand to vanish a coin like that is Bob Farmer's. His creation, which has been both published and sold without credit half a dozen times, predates all others.
What makes this creepy is the articulation of the doll hand.

Yeah, it looks like it is "articulated" to the gent's thumb with a piece of J & J gauze and plastic electrician's tape.
Very sophisticated indeed!
At the very least, he should have splashed a bit if Mercurochrome on the gauze. :D

Re: Here's A Strange One
What I meant by articulated is the way the baby hand closes and the thumb moves while his hand is otherwise still.

That's my custom made front door bell!
I was told by an expert in such things that it is a museum quality example of Late Redneck Period Americana. ;)
If it's too risque I can change it to something banal.

Didn't I see one just like that lying on van Gogh's bedroom floor after his last absinthe bash?

Doc, the photo is so small that I literally cannot make it out. Is it some animal's butt?

The avatar's size is less than 80 x 80 pix which is in compliance with the forum's mandates that I suppose determined the ultimate dimensions of the thing. Being no computer whiz I re-sized a much larger image to 79x79 and Voila!
Yes, it is the backside of a male Virginia White Tail deer.
The door bell's white button is located several inches below the base of it's tails and occupies a natural orifice that the deer formerly used while responding to its urge to relieve itself.
I fully expect to receive bad notices from all of the readers who hold joint membership in your :grin:forum and :mad:PETA (PEOPLE FOR THE EATING OF TASTY ANIMALS).
My graduation picture from Wharton (See Below) was my first choice but my wife does not care for the hat I wore on Commencement Day.

I was half expecting the baby's hand to give the one fingered salute. ;)
