Thread About Assumptions

Postby Jeremy Gessaro » February 7th, 2008, 5:51 pm

A while ago, there was a thread in the Genii Forum where Mike Close and (I believe) Curtis Kam, among others, were discussing Mike Close's Workers 5 chapter about Assumptions. I have searched and cannot find that old thread. Does anyone remember this or have a way of finding it?

They were specifically discussing discovering more unconscious assumptions than were in Workers 5. Apparently Curtis had further assumptions that he had found.

Thanks.

Sorry, I should have clarified. Yes, that was how I was searching.

There's a weird glitch where Michael Close's old posts are falling under Mark Jensen's name. Sorry; that's out of my purview.

Dustin - I believe the glitch you noted is an example of the problem that started with the new registation process. Sure hope this can be fixed.

I also remember this thread, and should have copied it. It was that good. I read your link Dustin, but I don't believe that is the correct thread. I'll keep searching for this at a later date...

A couple more possibilities from which to choose:

Gordon,

Yes, the glitch is a symptom of the change. I dont know when (or if) Brad can fix it.

Thanks for all your help on this, Dustin; but, none of these threads are the one I was looking for.

Perhaps the next time they are on this forum, Mike or Curtis might recap the high points of the thread.

Alas, the other two threads posted by Dustin are interesting, but not correct. I tried the search engine using Curtis Kam's name but haven't found it yet. I don't think the word "assumptions" is included in the title. Success will entail much clicking and reading...I did locate a wonderful Copper/Silver thread that I thought I'd never see again...

It is very possible that you are thinking of a thread on The Magic Cafe. You can find it here .

There is also a thread on unconscious assumptions on the Conjurenation board, if you are a member there. Search on assumptins.

That's it! Thank you Mr. Close. It was at the Cafe all along. Memory plays tricks...

Well, I must admit...the unconscious assumptions really work, and work well.

I unconsciously (or consciously...which is unfortunate) assumed that I read this thread here. In either case, I had conviction. It was the world of difference between not knowing if this thread was here, versus my knowing that it was here.

Thank you, Mr. Close.

Applying for membership in Conjurenation is tough. Chris Aguilar (the fellow in charge) never answered my e-mail inquiries. Nonetheless, I'd love to read that Conjurenation thread on assumptions...
