Just curious if anyone has any information on the next issue of "Penumbra". I believe should be getting one more from the original subscription. So far I've enjoyed the magazine.

I understand that issue 6 of Penumbra is now at the printer and should be going out by the end of this month. The delay is pretty much due to me and not the editors. My apologies to all concerned or affected.

Matt, Glen, Yves and Jamie, I certainly appreciate the kind words and exclamation marks. Can't exactly say I'm back, though. Maybe just not quite as gone. Currently there is no video with which we can substantiate the rare veracity lapse on the part of Stephen Minch. Maybe something can be done about that within the next year or so.

By the way, the first year's worth of Penumbra has been completed; I've renewed my subscription already. This is about the finest publication in terms of writing, editing, and content of any magic-related 'zine I've come across -- true collector's items.

And, it cannot go without saying, the Kaufman-era Genii is an incredible and always improving "mass"-market monthly which simply wouldn't exist without the love and dedication (and insanity) of our host. A terrific chronicle of the state of modern magic.

Of this there is no doubt. For years I would occasionally pick up a Genii at the store, but it was hit or miss, and I didn't keep them. However under Richard Kaufman I not only keep them as reference material, but I quickly signed up for a subscription. Top quality publication with excellent material and editing. I hope it continues for a long time.

I just received My Penumbra #6 and I must say that I am very happy indeed. I will renew my subscription to this fine publication.

The two items by Ernest Earick were IMHO outstanding and I hope that he will pursue his interest in magic and more importantly PUBLISH his materials.

Well . . . a spectacular Ernest Earick False Cut and an Earick trick based on a John Scarne Poker effect (which requires about 100 Second Deals), a clever Phil Goldstein effect (as if that weren't redundant), the Rosenthal Fan-Tastic Control and Jack Carpenter's Spider Cut, a very clever in-the-hands false cut with some excellent additions by Bill Goodwin.

Penumbra is the leading periodical for serious sleight of hand enthusiasts, and very highly recommended.

Earick, Rosenthal, Goldstein and Carpenter in one issue -- just phenominal.
