The Super Hands of David Croft

Postby Jon Racherbaumer » February 19th, 2003, 9:41 am

Although the Flourish Freak-Fest has somewhat subsided, the loose confederation of razzle-dazzle manipulation is still at work. Go to Superhandz.com and check out their feature artist, David Croft, to see some new variants that may not be in the repertoires of Cap Casino, Brian Tudor, or the Buck Twins.

I remember seeing Magic Christian do the multiplying cards (ala billiard balls) over thirty years ago. Croft ratchets up the difficulty level.

Also, in addition to pen spinning and Zippo lighter tricks, stay tune for SUNGLASSES manipulation.

I can hardly wait...

Onward...

I don't believe Superhandz hosts "Zippo Tricks" just yet. If you are looking to watch a ton of videos on Zippo lighter flourishes check out this site:

http://www.zippotricks.com/

I can't wait for the sunglass manipulations either.

A very talented guy. Follow the links to his site - he explains a couple of his cuts on there!

That is a great video! Also, I don't think any of Superhandz moves would be in Caps, Buck Twins, or Tudors repertoires. They are very original, and don't use a single sybil cut. Very, very refreshing, and amazing. I think that is why they picked David as their featured artist.

I loved David's hinge cuts, I have never seen those before.

The "elemental videos" are also incredible. Who would of thought to use fire, earth, wind and water with card flourishes?

More recently, their Xtreme 2 video was making me laugh for a day or so. Foot shuffle, one handed spring, and that one handed 5 packet cut with a packet balanced on the back of one finger just killed me.

Haven't seen the flourish "Freak Fest" die yet, but someday they will most likely run out of steam. Until then, I will be enjoying every second of it.

Cheers,

Paul

Jamie's right. I learned a really nice 3-packet sybil blind cut off David's website. I'm generally not one to do flourishes, but I got caught up in the craze enough to learn that one thing. It's explained rather well and I picked it up pretty quickly.
