Newbie bearing Houdini link

Postby JohnCox » July 13th, 2005, 9:31 am

Hello all,

I'm a newbie to the boards. My name is John Cox. I'm a long time Houdini buff, collector, member of Magic Castle, etc. Glad to find a place on the net where I can chat about Magic/Houdini. :)

As an offering to the fine member of The Genii Forum, here is a link to my very modest little Houdini website. Have a looksee.

I look forward to contributing.

John Cox, I can hardly believe it's you. I was thinking about you - I don't know, yesterday or the day before. Within the last 48 hours, anyway. I was musing upon how great it is to hear a person talk about something with enthusiasm, and I thought of your appearance in a Houdini documentary I saw five or six years ago. You were so articulate and knowledgeable. And also memorably enthusiastic, obviously.

Oh, dear. I had forgotten all about that documentary. LOL. Thanks for thinking of me. Odd, maybe I picked up on the vibrations and that's what drew me to discover this site. :p

Cool shirts. Thanks for the link, Kjellstrom.

Interesting. Didn't know this. Thanks. :)

Hello again.

My little home-made Houdini website is updated with news for August 05 (and a few other goodies I added last month).

Enjoy. :)

Do you have any connection with the Houdini Convention in Wisconsin?

Mr. Cox,

Fascinating site, and I really enjoyed browsing around it. Thanks for posting it here.

Is your TERROR ISLAND available on DVD yet?

Jon

As far as I know, it isn't.

And you flatter me a bit by saying it's "my" Terror Island. The print, of course, is from the Library of Congress. My involvement was I was interviewed for the doc...and then I stuck around and helped with photos, information, etc. As thanks, they gave me an "associate producer" credit. :)

Btw, my site is updated with a Sept Special report on Houdini's New York, and other new goodies throughout.

Just letting everyone know November's newsletter is up. Also you can catch up with past Houdini news from Aug, Sept, and Oct in the News Archive section. And check out all the new Houdini books and DVD releases in my redesigned New Releases section (now with links).

Hey all.

I've done a MAJOR revamp of my website. Not only does the site look a little more professional, but news will no longer be limited to a once a month newsletter. Now I can bring you all the latest "breaking" Houdini news as it happens. ;) You can even subscribe to an RSS news feed.

You still enter Houdini Lives through the main URL www.houdini-lives.com but all the inside pages have new addresses. So if youre still seeing the old pages after clicking through the main page, hit refresh until the new page pops up.

Hope you like the new look and feel of the new site.

Pulling back up this old post to let everyone know my Houdini site is still going strong with updates almost every week (amazing how much Houdini is still in the news). I've also finally put up a proper Links page and a little section About Me (because I am vain).

We also have a Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Harry-Houdini/36279631561), a Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/HoudiniLives), and a Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/houdiniliveswebsite -- but I don't really update this anymore).

No excuse to not keep up with all the latest Harry happenings! :)
