If you're going to use someone's open source script for your forum (as I also do), it might be to your advantage to refrain from removing their copyright notice at the bottom.
Aside from being a bit rude in not giving proper (or any!)credit for a script you're allowed free use of, removing said copyright will result in official support (from the phpBB staff) being witheld from you.
