Ricky Jay and City Arts and Lectures

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Ricky Jay and City Arts and Lectures

Postby Bill Mullins » February 9th, 2006, 2:03 pm

"City Arts and Lectures" is a series of interviews done in San Francisco. They are broadcast on many public radio stations. Ricky Jay was the interviewee several years ago, and just conducted an interview with Lawrence Weschler . Did anyone hear it, live or on the radio?

I was in the audience for the original interview at the Herbst Theater a few years ago. It was interesting, but somewhat disappointing in that the subject matter was not the side of Ricky Jay's work that appeals to me the most. He talked a lot about his work with David Mamet, and historical conmen. It was interesting nonetheless, and he did do one story/effect with cards.
