I'd like to take just a moment to let you know of the passing of a great magician of another kind - Chuck Jones. With the simplest of props - paper and pencil - he created worlds and characters that brought joy to people all over the world, making them laugh, think, and sometimes cry. A great deal of my sense of humor - and certainly comedy timing - came from growing up with his work. I'm sure it's the same with many of you.
Jones created his magic the way we try to create ours - by believing. He once said he didn't draw Bugs Bunny - he drew pictures of him. To him, Bugs was real and alive - he believed.
Chuck Jones, thank you - you will be missed.

Re: Chuck Jones
What are the details of his passing?
I have all of Mr. Jones' books, not to mention some of his artwork.
I had the great chance to meet Mr. Charles M. Jones in person at his gallery in San Diego. Wonderful fellow... so casual, and creative.
He lead one hell of a life too. (If you want to know about his life, read his books! "Chuck Amuck," and "Chuck Reducks.)

Re: Chuck Jones
I had the chance to see Mr. Jones at an evening "lecture" at the University of Nebraska many years ago. Projected on the screen, between his stories, were the full length, full screen cartoons (as they were meant to be viewed). The audience learned of how the voice of Daffy Duck and the Road Runner came to be. These backstage tales were priceless. It was an evening I will never forget.
It was an inspirational lesson in theatre.

Warner Bros. has a video of cartoons called "Tribute to Chuck Jones." This has "One Froggy Evening" and a bevy of other great Chuck Jones cartoons, including "What's Opera Doc." This is the best collection of Chuck's work that I'm aware of.
The "Tribute to Bugs Bunny" and "Tribute to Daffy Duck" are also excellent and contain many great Chuck Jones cartoons.
