Dangerous Knife Routines

Postby Guest » May 5th, 2006, 8:20 pm

Hello,

I'm looking for techniques on Dangerous Knife Techniques. For example (knife under bag or strafoam cup) routines/techniques.

I don't need to know about the popular mental knife effects that are marketed (Death Trap, Smash and Stab, Real Danger, This Is Your Knife).

Any ideas on this?

Then what is it you want to know?

I think that "Two Knives in the Hand, One in the Pocket" is pretty scary.

Jon,
What I'd like to know is: some classic routines and techniques on the knife/bag effect.

I use to do a Samurai sword routine on stage, but it was definately too dangerous to continue doing. It would just be a matter of time before I'd run myself through. Even Tony Corinda advised me to stop doing this act.

So, I'm now researching a good, classic, very dangerous looking knife routine. Something dangerous, but not quite as dangerous as my Samurai act.

Bill,

I'll check out the hand/pocket knife act. Any idea who originated it?

Thanks,

kanisto, two in the hand, one in the pocket is probably only feasable if the knives are made out of sponge...

Actually, thinking about it, you could do a knife-adaptation of "Shattered" by Scott Alexander.

Looks dangerous, but would actually be 100% safe...

Nice Cut by Stefan Schtzer looks dangerous:

Iggy and Kjellstrom,

Both of your ideas are good: with the shatered "knife" possibility and the "Nice Cut" (I saw a video demo of that recently...if I can find it, I'll post it for you).

Thanks,
kanisto

"Uncle Fyodor's Board Game" in Final Curtain is a knife routine with a repeat.

Here is me about ten years ago doing this type of effect. I made the board myself. It is pretty easy and not too dangerous.
