FISM 2003 mentalist

In FISM 2003 there was a mentalist performing an effect where a spectator was invited to read a question from a book and then another spectator, upon eating a magic cookie, revealed the answer. I don't remember if he participated in inventions or mentalism, but I do remember him stating, that the effect wasn't for sale. My question is: who was the performer/inventor?

The name you are looking for is JAN DITGEN from Germany. He was one of the Invention category winners with this, and rightly so. It was billiant, baffling and very funny - especially watching the spectator's face as he realised he knew the answer!

Just for the record, the reference point for this was Sue-Anne Webster's brilliant FISM Reports Blog , which is now online. It contains reports from the last 3 FISMs, as well as pictures and some video clips.

Best wishes

Indeed one of the highlights from that FISM year. It was very entertaining and an absolute miracle to all who I talked about it.

During FISM 2003 Tommy Wonder was one of the judges. I often brought up the subject of that particular act to him. He always got a little twinkle in his eyes, and told me teasingly that the method was almost even better than the act!

Wish I could see it once more.

Jan Ditgen, nice chap. But he keeps the secret to himself... hate him for that ;)
We're trapped in linguistic constructs... all that is is metaphor...
