Save a couple of grand and buy a reproduction. (Beware - some are dificult to tell from original antiques)

I bought mine years ago at Bit N' Pieces. A catgalog company.

Think you can find this exact (NEW) bank here for $30 bucks.

I, too, bought a reproduction from the "Bits and Pieces" company almost 10 years ago. It didn't work well at all. I sent it back and bought the older reproduction (1970's) from John Mendoza for about $30. Works perfectly, and it's more collectable than most of that new remake crap some companies are selling. You don't have to spend a million dollars on something like this unless you're a true cast iron novelty bank collector.

Was this an original????Or a remake... I have one and I can't see any difference in the photo... It did not say if this was an original...

Anyone know?

Well, since the winning bidder (flinnermagic, who I believe is John Mendoza) paid $3581 plus shipping for it, he must believe it to be an original antique!

I also have a reproduction which cost me $14.99 and I compared it with the photo's and like you I cannot tell the difference. Almost makes me want to put it on E-bay.

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve is not !!
