Is it effective? Yes, very much, a freind did it at a local magic meeting, and it knocked my socks off, I had no clue. There are couple considerations, you should be aware of, before you purchase, you can contact me by private email

when it is available it retailed for 125.00 US dollars

Is it still available? They came out with a slightly improved version "Nemo 2000" but I find no one on internet selling either one today, however I have a Nemo 1500, MINT condition, in the Estate sale I have going on, though I have not listed it in the website list yet, contact me if more interest with purcahase or considerations that I refer to. email: Magicalpro@aol.com

If memory serves me correctly, Stevens Magic Emporium is the authorized dealer for the Ken Brooke Line, so you might try there for the effect which is incredible and very commercial.

There are two people on here that I know of that can tell you more about Ken Brooke's material than most others and that is Pete Biro and Paul Green. You might try to contact them directly (or as they read this forum anyhow, they might eventually answer) in regards to routines, handling, etc.

PSIncerely Yours,

Johnny Thompson used it to close his trade show set... and believe me it is worht every penny. Joe Stevens may still have the stuff, but if you can get a used set for less go for it. It is one of the strongest effects you can do.

Funny anecdote. John and I were working the same trade show. I came by his booth to go to lunch.

When we came back (he had closed with NEMO 1500) he had left five $20 bills spread out on his pad... at the conclusion of his trick. The CASH laid there for an hour with hundreds of people passing by... but, thankfully, they were all honest!

It's my understanding that John Thompson did not perform the "Nemo 1500" as it was marketed, with four different wallets.
He used one Himber wallet with a double-faced card on each side, thus able to carry one wallet, and show that it contains only one of any of the four cards in the bank of cards in the Koran deck.

of course if he did do that way, he waould not be able to end the routine with showing the name of the card imprinted on the outside of the wallet.

Every time I saw John do it he had the four smaller wallets--actually I think checkbooks--with the name of the caed embossed on the back. That's the version I have always used.

They came out with a slightly improved version "Nemo 2000" but I find no one on internet selling either one today, however I have a Nemo 1500,

I am sorry, I said the improved version was Nemo 2000, it was not, it was merely called "Nemo 1500 Deluxe", the differences were the wallets were a slightly better wallets used, and the lettering on the outside of the wallet was better quality. Also originally it was sold with the Koran Deck, but the "Nemo 1500 Deluxe" it comes with a deck that is a variant of the Koran Deck.
The Nemo setup that I have, is the wallets were the originals from the "Nemo 1500", but there were no instructions with it or deck of cards, so my friend game me the instructions for his "Nemo 1500 deluxe", and I made up the deck of bicycle cards that they described in the the directions of the "Nemo 1500 Deluxe"
In regards to Charles Reynolds, I can only say, in this set of instructions, they do not give him any credits. From the instructions that I have in front of me now, the trick was produced by "Corprate Magic International" in Merseyside(somewhere in Endland??) It is "Routined by Paul Stone" and on the bottom of the instructions it says "Corporate Magic International is a division of PSG Events", so I will take a hunch that PSG Events is Paul Stone G___ Events ????, Now the title on the directions do say "Corporate Magic International Presents Johnny Thompson's 'Nemo 1500 Deluxe'" and the only other name mentioned in the instructions at all is Paul Stone quotes Ken Brooke.

Stone probably changed because whatever the originals were he couldn't find?

There is some controversy on Stone's involvement with the rights. He has not been able to live up to the making of the material for people like Joe Stevens, and someone in Europe on the Continent that was agreed...

In response to the questions about NEMO 1500 It is one of those routines that require a special touch and some thought beforehand. I, too, have used it for years in my trade show work. It is a great piece that allows me to pitch the message of being there for a customer.

The routine is an extension of the Koran Five Star Miracle which still is a great piece. I think that Richards posting concerning the use of the Himber wallet reflects that routine and Modus Operandi.

The Johnny Thompson extension, using the imprinted wallets, makes this a very good routine in the trade show arena. I usually give the wallet away with the card. Of course, the company name is prominently displayed. You can bet that the spectator that has chosen the card will talk about this for years! BTW, Ken Brooke offered an extra after sheet of instructions that allowed a regular deck of cards to be used. Contact directly for more info.

Use it! Joe Stevens in the USA is the authorized dealer.

Regards,

Paul Green

Pete Biro-In Ken Brooke's instructions
for Nemo 1500,dated Aug.1973, he stated that 3 years earlier, "Charles
Reynolds first mentioned this trick to me." He also said that at that time he had never heard of Johnny Thompson and
while he wasn't certain he thought Channing Pollock set the wheels in motion for he and Frank to handle the trick.
The '73 instructins were for the four wallet method. In Nov.1974 he wrote
the instructions for the Himber Wallet
method. He thanked you,Pete, for the draft which he titled,"Johnny Thomp-
son's Trade Show Wallet Routine".
Ken also said the deck set-up used
and attributed to Al Koran wasn't
Koran's invention but the creation of another magician who wished to remain
anonymous.Ken said he had positive proof of that statement.
Kurt Lee Flickner-One could conclude
the Himber Wallet routine by showing
any one of the possible four card
predictions.Each is engraved in gold
in four different places in the wallet. As with all of Ken's out-put the instructions and Wallet are superior.

I well remember when NEMO 1500 first came out. It was called that because Ken Brooke felt it was worth 1500 to a working performer. The original price was 20, which with inflation would be at least 200 sterling today.

I was fooled badly when I first saw it. It truly is a terrific effect if you SELL it. Boy, could Ken sell an effect. One of my magical highspots was the lecture Ken gave in Dublin in 1974. Very few lectures since have even come close.

Quentin,
Your experience with Ken as a lecturer
was the same feeling one had in his
shop or in correspondence or in his instruction sheets-Top of the Line!
I had the good fortune of having had
two hours of tuition with Ken showing me how to present Finn Jon's Silver Stick. The proper use of a hoop and
most important to,Ken, was the music.
"Moonlight Sonata".
I worked on the Silver Stick for about a year and when I did perform it at
an S.A.M. function in Philadelphia,
the great Richiardi (who was appearing at one of the casinos in Atlantic City) was in the audience. He asked me
to come to Atlantic City to show him how I was doing the Stick. He thought it one of the best Floating bits he'd
ever seen and he thought the music was
perfect for the effect! One of my sons
and I spent a memorable afternoon with Richiardi and his family and after his show I explained the routine that Ken had shown me to him.I showed him how the Stick worked and gave him the Stick. Ken Brooke taught an amateur
so well that one of the world's top
professionals was impressed and gave me one of my most memoriable magic experiences.

Lessons from Ken.... the master

He spent a whole afternoon with me one time teaching me how to walk and how to stumble carrying a tray of teacups...

And all night working on Chase the Ace...

Not to mention DAYS on the Malini Egg bag...

One night two others were in from New York and it was Del Cartier and his wife, Rhoda.

Near closing time, Rhoda said, "Ken we have never seen you do your act."

Didn't notice, but Ken disappeared into the back room for a few minutes...

When he came out he had changed into his Tux, had the act, and did the entire 20 minutes for us, including falls, the lot.. right there in the Studio... for three of us, like we were hundreds! :) :D :) :D
