Tribe of Pygmy Headhunters who do magic located in the Jungle!
A tribe of South American pygmy headhunters was recently located in the Jungle, and every single member of the tribe is required to learn a magic trick as part of his or her passage into adulthood at age 10. Imagine...every single person in that culture is an amateur magician! :D

Now it would be interesting to know what kind of tricks these guys learn. Wouldn't that be a great article for Genii?

Doubtlessly they perform the Cannibal Kings.

Richard,
You say they learn a magic trick. I question wether their culture considers it a "trick". To them it may be the neccessary interaction with the spiritual or magical world around them. How these "tricks" are used in their daily life would be interesting. And it would make a great article, especially if you could combine with something like National Geographic, putting both the actual work and the use into context.

I learned about this tribe of fascinating pygmies while on a cruise through the jungle ... in Anaheim. :)

There is an epidemic of foot in mouth disease currently engulfing the world of magic. People are falling over because one of their feet is suddenly not on the ground, but stuffed into their cake hole.

I always did wonder about that funny looking crowd that hangs around the Main Street Magic Store.....

I've also gone through this Anaheim jungle. (three dozen times)
You can say one thing... those headhunters are really ahead of other magicians in S. America.
Bad place to be beheaded. It'd be great to have dinner there. I wouldn't want to be at the head of the table!

I should go down there and sell some magic. I'd be the head salesman!

I lived in South America for a couple years and in Africa for a couple years....as I recall the pygmies were in Africa and the head hunters would have been the Carib. Which leads me to wonder how the lil' buggers palmed cards....
