His prices on Ebay seem fair to me. I think he starts all his auctions at $9.95. I picked up a book from him and it was as described.

My offer to him on the Houdini book was that I was thinking it may have been a typo. Every one of the copies I bought with dust jackets were at that price and much less. And this from magic dealers.

After seeing the $800 winning bid for Kellock book, I had to do a quick check on my copies. I have 9 copies. So, I can sell my now OR He can handle my estate. ;)

Kevin, why would you have NINE copies of the Kellock book?

Well, as a general matter, I've found that Houdini collectors do not collect variants of books like Kellock's bio, but for what it's worth, I know of at least 9 variants of this title, if you include the U.K. edition, the different printings, and variant dust jackets.

Richard,

They just come in collections. Sometimes I buy another and tell myself I'll sell the lower grade one. And then don't. :o

The few Houdini collectors that I know collect variant editions. This way, when the bibliophile author gets to the letter "H" on his/her way through magic authors, they would die of a coronary when they found out there are seven variations of 1908 Unamsking, 3 for the 1924/25/26 pitchbook and 3 for 1924 "Spirit" book.

Seeing the output on this subject, I may not live that long.

Richard...To show you that I have no rhyme or reason to Houdini collecting, I have 4 of your "Spirit" books and 3 of your "Notes". Why? Why not? :D :D :D
