Does anyone know when the crochet covered cork balls first came into use in magic? A few of us are trying to document some magic details history and could use some help. Thanks in advance for any aid you can offer.

Re: History of crochet covered cork balls
I want to know where the factory is where all these little old ladies are....
sitting in their rocking chairs,
watching Oprah,
making these balls?
I'll bet there's cat hair and all over the place, too.

You may be joking, but there was a shortage of crochet balls here in the uk a few years ago, because the old dears had died off.!!Originally posted by frank starsinic:

Either that, or they found out that there was more money to be made in making poodle shaped covers for toilet paper.
( please tell me its not just an English thing!
I'd hate to think that we are not only divided by a common language, but by bathroom accesories too!)

Poodle covered toilet paper is purely an English thing. In my house we have shredded toilet paper by Yorkie.
