I have a couple questions about Lifesavers

Hey all

A good few years ago I bought a 2nd hand copy of Weber's Lifesavers book (excellent by the way) and I will be selling it (a house move necessitates , sadly).

When I bought it I was under the impression that it was First Edition, but it lacks the usual "First Edition" statement on the copyright page that is in my other 1st Ed Kaufman & Co books. The copyright is dated 1991, which matches the introduction in the book.

I assume the book has been reprinted at least once, and I really don't want to accidentally claim the book is 1st Ed if it isn't. Do I have a 1st or a reprint?

Also, for completeness, my copy is lacking a dustcover... was this book originally issued with one?

Many thanks,

My first edition "Lifesavers" has "First Edition" printed on the copyright page. The customary row of numbers (6 5 4 3 2 1) indicates the first printing.

It did not come with a dustjacket.

Hope this helps!

That certainly settles it. It appears I got a little ripped off. ;) Live and learn.

Many thanks!

If it is of any help, Lifesavers are known as Polo mints in the UK.

The title of the book would not have made any sense if we called it "Polo Mints"! :D

That row of numbers indicates the printing, not the edition. Thus, if the number sequence is missing the 1, it's the first edition, second print run. If it's missing the 1 and 2, it's the first edition, third print run. And so on.
