Hi guys,
First post. :/
I was wondering if anyone still uses the Jiffy Coin Trick. A very old simple trick.
For anyone familiar with the trick, I'm a bit concerned about the noise the trick makes when you remove the slide from the plates.
What mis-direction do you use so the audience don't focus on the noise. Or is it a non-issue for you?
Kind regards
Ricardo

Re: The Jiffy Coin Trick
It's a great trick, but it's better to ditch the plates and insert the slide into the center of a ball of wool. No noise when you pull it out, and it makes a great revelation.
Other versions that eliminate the metal plates use a series of cardboard or wooden boxes of diminishing sizes. The Tenyo designed version, which uses a series of nesting plastic boxes (round) is also very good.

Derren Brown does a lovely coin in ball of wool in the Enigma show.
Re: The Jiffy Coin Trick
I believe Derek Dingle had a very nice version using the Tenyo type boxes.

Two versions are in Dingle's Complete Works. But what about the Adams Coin in Matchbox? Can't beat that.

Yes, Derek did, and it's in his book. Unfortunately he got the idea from Irv Weiner and didn't mention this to me, so there's no credit in the book.

Henning performed Coin in matchbox on Dick Cavett 's TV show. I think 1974?

henning also did Bennet's card in MatchBOOK - where the coin appears glued between the layers of the cover. This was on the Tonight Show.
The Fitzkee coin in ball of wool is also great. We used it on the Magic at the Manor event. Was a fooler.

Try gluing some felt material around the slide to soften the sound...
