Bottle/Glass Production form Cards

Postby Brad A._dup1 » September 25th, 2004, 5:44 pm

I'm doing a gag with three large cards (say Jumbo Bikes) and want to produce a glass, or bottle, of Orange Juice after the gag is done.

I'm thinking I can build one of the cards to hold the glass, but it seems faulty for angle reasons....

Thoughts, anyone?

Standup? Closeup? With a table? Without? Can you stand the cards up in a triangle and reach in to produce the glass? Fan them and wave the fan in front of a palm up left hand, for instance? Wave them in front of an empty glass and have it "fill" magically? What are your conditions, and what is it you are trying to create in the spectator's mind? More details would help...

Best, PSC

We just had a great lecture by Troy Hooser. He has a very nice bottle from whatever-ya-want production. He sells a gimmick to help facilitate the production, but it is not required. I think its in his book DesTROYers.

Wonderful lecture from a truly nice guy!

Bob Read: Thanks to Pepys, and the recent Bob Read issue of Genii

John Lovick in Labyrinth (forget the issue number) -- probably relevant to this discussion
