Has anyone here seen the Chinese Sticks Teach-In Video from Stevens Magic Emporium.

There are performances and explanations from Howard Hale, Aldo Colombini, Pete Biro, Joe Stevens and Charlie Miller.

Can anyone post a review of the tape?

I'm thinking of buying it but would like some opinions first.

Thanks.

Paul.

Here's a tip for the Chinese Sticks that is not on the Stevens video, from a set of lecture notes I wrote for Phil Matlin in 1990 ('91?), called "Tricks, Tips and Ideas." When you're holding the two sticks in one hand, and one string is shorter than the other, take hold of the short string with your free hand, then, without moving that hand, lift the front ends of the sticks. In this way, the short string becomes long at EXACTLY the same rate that the long string becomes short. You'll find this improves the timing on the extensions and retractions IMMENSELY.

Does anyone here know the Scotty Hooten Sticks? They are constructed totally different than the usual and will fool the pants off you.

Acer me bucko... yessir that is a nice handling. Also Charlie Miller showed me one where you hold one stick in the bend of your arm and when you reach over to pull down the arm action tilts the stick and is really spooky to watch.
