Hello all, I am currently in the process of putting together a stage act, which will be fairly fast-paced and serious. What music would you suggest? Thank you!

A.) What's the venue?
B.) How are you dressed?
C.) How many people in the act?
D.) Is it background, introductory, continuity
music you need? Or all three, and then some?
E.) Is there a theme to the "Act"?
F.) Period costumes?
G.) Is it a silent or talking "Act", or some
combination thereof?
H.)Is there lots of movement,is it choreographed,
are there dancers, assistants, to consider?

These are just some of the things that come to mind as you consider what is appropriate for sound...

Best, PSC

Collaborate with a local composer to develop an original score for your original act.

I seem to recall a book titled "Getting Your Act Together" that had pretty good advise regarding the use of music in a magic act - how to select, edit, etc. Some of it may be a bit dated, what with advances in PC based software and products like Virtual Soundman. Still, it has a lot of good information.

A.) The venue? I don't understand
B.) Blue shirt under waistcoat, with slacks.
C.) Solo Act
D.) All three I think.
E.) The theme will be based around Masks and "Faces of Illusion."
F.) Dunno what that is.
G.) Completely silent.
H.) Solo act, but I will be dancing a hip hop style, with some gliding and Pop and Lock as well.

As for collaborating with a composer, well, since I'm only 16 and have little means, I doubt I'd be able to pull that off. The booklet, I will look into however, thanks.
