Good points: People from elusionist seem to be fooled by it

Bad points: You have to smoke, you have to have a odd shirt on

You don't HAVE TO SMOKE... you can do the effect without the lighting if you wish.

You can also perform the routine to demonstrate how addictive smoking can get; it gets to a point where the cigarettes light themselves and...

I have heard that Mr. Kennedy performs this very convincingly. So I am not going to claim that it is impractical. I will say, however, that I have found it very difficult -- in front of a mirror -- to make the animation appear convincing. There is a lot of wobbling involved and I don't think the positioning of the hand is terribly natural (at least for me and my mannerisms).

I would be very surprised if a significant portion of those purchasing it performed it professionally -- or, had performed it at all for any audience.

It is a great plot...

Best,

N.

The Kennedy Floating Cigarette is truly wonderful. I'll never forget the first time I saw him perform it.
Yes, if you're nervous or your hands tremble, the wire will amplify that. You really need rock steady hands to successfully do this.
People won't be paying any attention to the hand doing the dirty work.

Hi! All, :help:

Thanx for your comments. However, I hope some comments from someone who performs it
professionally. Can this effect be shown in between an act or should this be a stand alone effect?

Best regards.

Professional magician Michael Douglas does this and it looks fantastic.

I have this effect, but honestly feel only John Kennedy can do it justice. When I first saw him perform it I was totally amazed, after trying to work it I would have to take my hat off to him as he can make it happen. As for me, very difficult..

James Chantler Brown (I have no idea where he is now days) used to perform it. It looked great! He had a funny routine with it too... the hand on the lapel didn't bother me, because he set it up properly.

Thanks friends. Now I've enough info to judge the effect. It seems it is not everyone's cup of tea :)
Best regards.
