That will tell you one company to leave off your list.

Not anymore, it won't. That whole thread vanished.

What happened to it?

I deleted it after receiving the serious threat of a complex lawsuit.

I suspected as much. Thanks for the honest answer.

No problem. I hope Richard Erb follows up with his threatened lawsuit and puts Jack Moyer and Snap Illusions out of business.

So the answer to Ernestos question is (in my opinion, based on seeing their equipment, not using it) and in no specific order:

John Gaughan & Associates
Bill Smith Magic Ventures
Owen Magic Supreme

If Jack doesn't have the money to pay you, I wonder where he would get the money to get a lawyer, unless he can find one pro-bon.

He's probably got a buddy who's an attorney. Jack must get his fare share of letters from attorneys himself!

Last Vegas convention I was at (92 SAM?), Bill Smith had some of his illusions there and he was using laminate to cover the illusions which provided durable and consistent color. Very nice!

Chalet used to provide quality illusions at an excellent price. I don't know if George still has the company or sold it.

I'd add Wellington to that list of great builders.

Bill Schmeelk is really nice and great to deal with. He just made a broom suspension for me that appears to have been forged in the bowels of Mordor.

It's shame that I did not archive the whole thing. As he took pot shots at me, I could probably sue him for defamation of character. But then since he has no money, what could I gain?

Thanks for putting up with all this nonsense for so long and for giving an honest answer why it was deleted. It is appreciated when other places just deleted things.

I will follow up as planned in June/July. Have a wedding in the family first and get a new kitchen late June, which is of course both more important to me than some "creative business person" in Indiana :-)
However, during my vacation a few weeks ago I finally had the idea how to definitely prove that there is and was no intention to deliver an illusion which was offered.
I will of course not go into details here in order to avoid that past tracks are covered but once I found a lawyer and press charges, I will be happy to explain how it can be proven easily. So, be patient and wait a little bit until I am ready. (Ooops, that sounds like someone else who always said "it will be shipped when it is finished". Sorry for that. I wouldn't want to be compared with that guy :-) ).

By the way, concerning the assumption about the lawyer connections, here is what Jack wrote to me in an email on Mo. 21.03.2011 when I mentioned that I will find a local lawyer to press charges:
"some of those people are personal and business acquaintances. One in fact is a personal family friend ( I won't tell you which ones),"

Why am I not surprised? Probably he is a good customer to some of them and as roman emperor Vespasian said: "pecunia non olet" :-)

Dear all,

July has arrived, my current projects are done and and I have some time to start what I planned already since a few months, which is, going after Snap Illusions.
Therefore I am looking for an excellent lawyer in Indiana (best would be in Indianapolis) who is willing and able to file a lawsuit against Snap Illusions, the owner and some involved family members.
Past experience with with lawsuits about ongoing internet fraud, professional scam, swindle, cheating etc. would be preferable.

If you know a lawyer you would recommend your suggestion would save me some time to find someone via the internet.

I will of course check the suggestion before I move on with that lawyer. to avoid that "someone" might try to plant his "family friend" on me :-).

So, if you know a good lawyer to represent a group of ca. eight foreigners from different (mainly European) countries
who claim to have lost some thousands of US$ each to Snap Illusions and want to put a stop on future similar activities, please send me contact details of the lawyer you would suggest to my dedicated email address get-snap@taipo.de

Thanks in advance and best regards
Richard Erb

Mr. Erb,
I sent you a PM with an attorney's name that might be able to help.
