Capehart's THE RINGS

Postby Paul Green » October 17th, 2014, 4:35 pm

"I received Chris Capehart's latest release, THE RINGS and it is wonderful!

Chris is one of the finest performers I know. His audiences gasp with his presentation of the linking rings. In this DVD, he proves that he is a "ringmaster"!!

Well shot and taught, you will pick up lots of great tips and moments to add to your own routines.

I love this DVD!"

Hey Paul, is this a NEW project or a rerelease of his original routine?

Based on the trailer it is definitely new. The performance is at the Magic Castle and there's a move being taught that is not on his original release.

Mr. Capehart is one of those guys who gets better with age (versus the rest of us who just age). I hope Joe or I have the opportunity to review it for Genii. It will be one of those reviews that writes itself.

I saw Chris years ago at Bob Little Super Sunday. For years seasoned magicians told me to forget about the linking rings...they are boring to audiences and have been over performed by thousands of magicians. After Chris' handling of the rings I learned that seasoned magicians are not always seasoned performers. Anything Chris does is top notch, but his handling of the rings is one of the few times I can honestly say I saw real magic.

The only thing boring about the Linking Rings are posed "figures." They should be avoided. Otherwise, well done, it's an amazing trick. That's why people keep doing it.

Love it!

I based my routine on Chris's original manuscript that I was given well over 30 years ago.
